Share Your Story
Are you passionate about sharing perspectives on Filipino history, culture, and stories? Aking Sinta is inviting you to join our community of storytellers — bring forward your unique ideas, stories, and creative work that honour the Filipino experience, whether from the homeland or the diaspora.
At Aking Sinta, we aim to feature inspiring and insightful articles across three themes that shape our collective identity:
Kasaysayan (History)
Kasaysayan dives into the roots of the Filipino identity. Here, we welcome factual, informative pieces that enrich our understanding of Filipino history. Whether it's exploring a pivotal moment, highlighting an unsung hero, or examining the heritage that binds us, contributions to Kasaysayan are about uncovering truths and celebrating the resilience woven into our story. We’re looking for articles that shed light on our journey with depth, accuracy, and a fresh lens, allowing our readers to see familiar narratives in new ways.
Kultura (Culture)
Kultura is a window into the vibrant, diverse world of Filipino culture. This theme explores microcultures within the Philippines and across the diaspora, from unique traditions to artistic expressions, cuisine, language, and customs. We’re also interested in Filipino folklore — the mythical stories and characters that add colour to our cultural tapestry. This is a visual, dynamic space where contributors can bring lesser-known aspects of our culture to life. In Kultura, we aim for vivid descriptions and concise summaries that transport our readers and celebrate the rich complexity of Filipino identity across the world.
Kwentuhan (Stories)
Kwentuhan is where personal stories come alive, weaving individual experiences with topics that touch the heart. Contributions to Kwentuhan should feel like conversations with friends — open, reflective, and relatable. This theme invites pieces that capture the emotional connection between lived experiences and the larger Filipino story, whether they’re drawn from family memories, personal discoveries, or reflections on life in the diaspora. We believe that the beauty of Kwentuhan lies in its ability to evoke shared memories and evoke a deep sense of connection within our community.
