STORY: 
I've always loved the symbolism of the Philippine flag. The white triangle represents liberty, equality, and fraternity. The horizontal blue band stands for peace, truth, and justice. The red band symbolises patriotism and valour. The three five-pointed stars in the corners represent the three major island groups of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The distinctive golden sun, featured in the pieces in the Araw Collection, is a depiction of unity, freedom, democracy, and sovereignty. Each of the golden sun rays represent the 8 provinces that triggered the Philippine Revolution and which were put under martial law during the Spanish occupation: provinces are Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija. This collection is a minimalist ode to the the Philippine flag and everything it symbolises.
