Bamboo: Home, Held Together

Bamboo is one of those materials that’s so woven into Filipino life, you almost don’t notice it until you’re far away from it. It’s not just a “motif” — it’s the backdrop of home. Practical, familiar, and quietly everywhere.

And that’s what bamboo symbolises to me: a kind of strength that’s lived-in. Not polished. Not performative. The kind that holds people up, makes space for rest, and keeps going even when it’s weathered.

This bamboo piece is a small tribute to that — to the homes built with what you have, to the bridges that get you across, and to the places that raised you. Wear it as a reminder that you come from something sturdy, even if it was simple. Especially if it was simple.
